About MedHealthPortal
MedHealthPortal is an independent health and wellness publication. We write practical, plain-language articles on nutrition, fitness, mental health, sleep and everyday care, for people who want to understand what the research says without wading through it themselves.
Who writes here
Our articles are written by two writers, David Hall and Sarah Chen, who publish under pen names. Neither is a doctor, dietitian or other licensed health professional, and we don’t present ourselves as one. What we do is research: we read the studies, guidelines and expert reviews behind a topic and explain what they show.
How we write
- We start from the evidence. We rely on health authorities and government bodies (such as the WHO, NIH, CDC and FDA), major clinical institutions, and peer-reviewed research, preferring systematic reviews and large trials over single small studies.
- We link our sources. Every article links to the research and guidance it relies on, so you can read it for yourself.
- We say where the evidence is thin. When studies are small, early, done in animals, or disagree with each other, we say so rather than rounding it up into a promise.
- We don’t make claims our sources don’t support. No miracle cures, no guaranteed results.
- We revise. When guidance changes or we find a better source, we update the article.
Not medical advice
Everything on MedHealthPortal is for general information and education. It isn’t a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you have a health concern, talk to a doctor or another qualified health provider, and never delay seeking care because of something you read here.
Corrections
If you spot an error, an outdated figure or a source that doesn’t say what we said it does, please let us know. We take corrections seriously and fix them promptly.
